Because Dan made fun of Chad Gaudin's facial creature earlier, (once a Cub, always a Cub. Always exceptions) I'm going to say something here about Jose Contreras. He's the one on the right.
Yeah he sucked this year. I understand. But Jesus Christ, you guys were BRUTAL on him. And believe me, I know the story. I spent years waiting on the former glories of Mark Prior and Kerry Wood to reignite to no avail. But at the same time, neither of those two guys were linchpins in a World Series champion like Young Jose was. Now I know I don't watch Woe'Sox games as close as I do Cubs games, but I just feel like he shouldn't have gotten the bonus kick in the ass he's gotten while being thrown out the door. There's something to be said about respect due and loyalty to a guy that, despite oddities and indescretions, helped bring rings to a Chicago baseball team for the first time in decades. Dan, please prove me wrong.
